Can't enable two-factor authentication (2FA). Reasons and solutions

Two-factor authentication (2FA) helps to protect your personal account on NIC.UA. Even if your main password has been stolen, it is impossible to get access to your dashboard without a one-time code.

With all the simplicity of activating this feature, there are two common reasons why activation may not be available:

  1. You have not confirmed your account's contact email.
  2. SMS for activation can be sent to the number that you no longer have.

If the email is not confirmed.

The account's contact mail is your login. The letter with the confirmation link sends you during registration on a site or when you make any free order (NS-servers, domain PP.UA).

Check your mailbox, including your SPAM folder for a letter with a confirmation link. After clicking on this link you will be able to activate 2FA.

If you didn't find the letter, please contact support@nic.ua or make a request on our site in the section "Contact us". We will resend a confirmation letter.

If you find that your account email is not up to date, you can also update your email by request to the support.

The account phone number is incorrect

You can receive an SMS for activating two-factor authentication only to the account owner's contact number regardless of what other numbers are stored in the 'Contact' section.

If the number is already outdated, you can change it by request to the support.
